Dr. Harvey Stempel formerly served as a professor and counselor with Montgomery College in Maryland. He holds a PhD in counseling from Loyola University in Maryland and is a licensed professional counselor.

At Montgomery College, Harvey taught a course focused on developing the inner qualities, responsibility, motivation, self-management, etc., that enable students to succeed in their studies. In the course, students used the text, On Course: Strategies for Creating Success in College and in Life, authored by TLCI Advisory Board member, Dr. Skip Downing and used in colleges and universities across the nation. 

Harvey enjoys working with students regarding their educational interests and career direction. He also has experience coordinating academic accommodations for students who have disabilities, with the goal of facilitating their full access to varieties of learning experiences.

Harvey’s own children are all high school graduates of TLCI and he has watched and admired TLCI’s evolution and growth over the years.
