As TLCI Director of Academic Affairs, Romana (Romy) Hughes collaborates with the Executive Director to develop and implement training programs for advisors and academic professionals. TLCI promotes a culture of creativity, innovation, and empowered learning for both learners and staff. As a family advisor, Romy ensures this ethos is upheld as she guides advisors and parents to develop their learner’s customized courses and individualized learning plans.

Twenty years of faculty development, and seventeen years of teaching round out the thirty years of higher educational experience Romy brings to her role in TLCI. Her experience managing multi-faceted faculty professional development programs enriches her understanding of the intersection of course design with student-centered learning while utilizing the best of instructional technology. 

Romy holds two graduate degrees in Liberal Arts and Professional Development Organizational Communication.
